I Bought a Palette...

So. We're not going to talk about how long it's been. We're not going to acknowledge that I'm the worst blogger in the history of blogging. We're going to pretend I've been really busy with lots of important things, and that's why I haven't posted anything in NINE MONTHS. And we're going to act like I'm a crafting genius with this project. Yeah? Cool.

I go to Walmart a lot. And when I say a lot, I mean a lot. And I buy unnecessary things. Like that one time that I bought a wooden palette. Yep, you read that right. Do I paint? No. My artistic abilities take a screeching halt at stick figures wearing tutus.

So now I have this palette. And and a glorious, long-awaited, entire weekend full of... nothing. But this palette.

And some paint.

I turned to the only thing in my my that never lets me down, Pinterest and it let me down!!! Nothing. No ideas to attempt. So I had to get creative. I found this quote a while back and fell in love with it, and seeing as my canvas was a palette (get it?), I thought it'd be really cool to use.

"An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail." -Edwin Land

The rest was really easy. All I did was make a single spot of of each color on the palette, just like a painter would do. Once they dried, I wrote the quote in pencil and, once I was happy with it, I painted over the words.

It came out even better than I had hoped! (It is me, after all...)

I had a can of clear gloss left over from another project (that, of course, I didn't document or post) that I used to spray the palette once it was finished. It completely changed the look of it for the better! I loved it even more! Tadaaaa!

I'm sorry, it's really not the best picture. But the finished product! In all, it probably cost me less than $10, and was super easy! Try it for yourself, and post your finished product for me to see!

XOXO Erin
